Job Title: Recoveries Manager in Collections
Salary: Salary Negotiable upto £40k
Based in Basingstoke, Hants
Salary negotiable dependant on experience
OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
To cost effectively maximise the recovery of monies owing from customers whose accounts have been transferred into Recoveries Department.
MAIN ACTIVITIES/TASKS (NOT IN ANY PRIORITY)
a) To promptly determine an action plan for each partner transferred into the Recovery Manager’s in-box. To carry out sufficient investigation to ensure that each action plan will yield the highest and most cost effective return.
b) To set an accurate provision, within predetermined timescales, on all new cases transferred from ‘live’ to ‘ledger’.
c) To review the accuracy of provisions each time an account is reviewed and make recommendations for any required provision adjustment.
d) To undertake a full provision review of all schedules within the Recovery Manager’s in-box in June and December of each year or when requested by Head of Recoveries and make recommendations for any required adjustment.
e) To use own skills and judgement to personally contact Recovery customers and obtain payment of monies owing.
f) To instruct approved, external Collection Agencies, Tracing Agencies and Solicitors to act on our behalf where such action is necessary and cost effective.
g) To lodge claims and proxies etc. with Insolvency firms/practitioners within required timeframes.
h) To recommend accounts for write off when all recovery action has been exhausted.
5. SUBSIDIARY DUTIES
a) To provide Ad-Hoc reports as and when requested by management.
b) Any other duties that may be required.
6. REGULAR CONTACTS
INTERNAL : Credit, Customer Services, Collections, UKD.
EXTERNAL : Solicitors, Recovery Agents, Repossession Agents, Insolvency Practitioners, Customers, Dealers, Specialist Valuers, Professional Advisers.
7. REQUIRED EDUCATION
- GCSE’s at grade A-C (or equivalent)
8. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Relevant previous employment.
Knowledge of litigation & insolvency procedures.
Knowledge of agents procedures.
