Collections Operations Manager Canary Wharf ref: 10001

£50k per annum

Key Purpose of the Role

To support CMS in maintaining its position as the UK’s market leader in providing B2B Collections services and in delivering upon its growth strategy by:

- Managing the UK operational departments of Collections
- Enabling continuous improvement of our service and product offering


Key responsibilities:

  • To manage, train and motivate direct reports to achieve all required revenue and cost targets and to support them in these areas as they relate to their own teams.
  • To be responsible for the recruitment, management, objective setting, monitoring and development of direct reports and to support them in these areas as they relate to their own teams.
  • To ensure that the department provides the highest level of service to all internal and external customers.
  • To manage and develop departmental workflows and processes within the business model and to improve efficiency and effectiveness by fully utilising Opex methodologies
  • Assist in integrating the Collections culture and operations more closely with EHUK’s other business areas
  • To set appropriate targets and budgets for relevant areas of the business. To manage within budgets and achieve targets set.



Required qualifications, knowledge and experience:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead / motivate teams
  • Opex qualified Associate Level 1 / Blue Belt preferred
  • Good knowledge of the Credit Management Industry.
  • Good understanding of Euler Hermes credit insurance service/products.

Credit Controller Central London ref: 10002

£20k per annum

Job Description/Duties:

  •          To ensure the payment of all invoices, in accordance with established departmental procedures and timescales
  •          To liaise with customers to identify and resolve possible late payment issues
  •          To liaise with internal staff to ensure that all queries in relation to payment of invoices are resolved
  •          Produce monthly reports of debtors and reasons for outstanding amounts for corporate accounting in US.
  •          To arrange monthly meetings with MD’s and/ or Management Accountants to discuss debtors, provide notes of meetings and ensure that points arising are followed up
  •          To place customer accounts on hold or instigate legal proceedings

Qualifications/Experience:

  •          GCE ‘A’ Level or equivalent
  •          Excellent credit control experience – must be specifically as a credit controller
  •          Must have experience of working to deadlines on a daily/weekly basis
  •          This role requires excellent written and verbal communications skills
  •          Experience of the JD Edwards Accounting package or Get Paid would be an advantage
  •          Microsoft Excel and MS Office skills to basic level
  •          Confident and professional

Credit Controller East London ref: 10003

£21 - £25 k per annum

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent will be responsible for assisting with day to day accounting administration for the company whilst demonstrating confidentiality and professionalism.

 

STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Operations

Prepare daily banking and post receipts to sales ledger;

Ensure all outstanding debts are collected in a timely fashion;

Liaise with customers for missing remittance advices;

Process credit card payments for remote offices;

Communication of invoice queries to the customer service team;

Assist the Financial Controller with other general accounting tasks.

Administration

Provide accurate and timely information for the preparation of reports and planning;

Ensure compliance with legal, Company and contractual obligations at all sites, such as the Data Protection Act, Health and Safety at Work Act and procedures outlined in the company.

Health & Safety

Reporting immediately to the Manager any action or inaction which compromises safety;

Maintain a healthy and safe place of work, ensuring all posts are in a clean and tidy condition at all times;

Report missing, damaged or unserviceable equipment to the Director;

Cooperate so that the company can carry out its statutory duty under Health and Safety at work etc Act 1974, and all relevant statutory provisions;

Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse any property, equipment IT hardware or systems in the interests of health, safety and welfare. 

Other duties

Be aware of policy and procedures owned and changed from time to time by the Company;

To positively participate in the Performance and Appraisal Programme;

Carry out all other duties as detailed by the Manager

up to £18k-OTE£30k  

The proactive collection of cash from escalated accounts in the field, along with assisting with various other aspects of the collection process.  Investigation of meter reads, COTs etc, etc.

Collection Activity

  • Visiting of Accounts owing money to company.
  • Visiting Sites that have come off of Direct Debit with a view to establishing the issue and obtaining a new mandate.
  • Where necessary attending court with a view to obtaining warrant of entries
  • Where necessary attending disconnection visits
  • Other collection duties as required by credit operations

Investigation

  • Obtaining meter reads on problem sites
  • Investigation of sites where Cots have been alleged.
  • Trace and investigation visits to sites where customers have left owing Opus Energy money.

Other

  • Dealing with customer queries and complaints.
  • Reporting of performance on a daily basis.
  • Other tasks as and when required by credit operations.

37.5 hours per week although some flexibility may be required – hours will include some evening and weekend work.

Responsible for the management and development of the credit policy including: -

  • Management and Development of the Credit Team
  • Development and enhancement of existing policies
  • Development of policies to support new products
  • Ongoing management of current risk portfolio
  • Continuous improvement of Risk Assessment and Account Management Processes
  • Integration of credit functions
  • Day to day Management of the Credit Team including recruitment of additional resources, team development, objectives setting and performance management
  • Development, monitoring and maintenance of the Credit Policy recommending areas of improvement in order to minimise exposure to risk
  • Management of credit scoring strategy including regular and ad-hoc analysis of credit score information making recommendations for change to improve debt performance and accept rates
  • Monitoring the Collections Policies in order to understand the aged debt profile and collections rates of different customer profiles across the product portfolio including predictive analysis of customer decay rates
  • Development and circulation of a regular reporting pack that enables full understanding and its current acceptance rates and debt performance levels
  • Ongoing communication and training of Credit policy.
  • Provide credit expertise to support the delivery of corporate approved projects and manage the impact of change within scope of responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring that processes and procedures are fully developed and implemented in accordance with the Credit Policy
  • Monitoring compliance to policy, highlighting areas of non-compliance for resolution
  • Co-ordination and management of the Credit Policy Forum
  • Responsible for credit referrals and escalations. Manage the selection process between the company and External Credit / Collections Suppliers i.e. credit bureau selection, collection agencies etc.
  • Manage the relationship between the company and third party suppliers with respect to Credit.
  • Assist in the relationship with 3rd party channels from a Customer Finance Perspective
  • Experienced Credit Manager with at least 3 years credit management experience in a high volume/ low value market segment
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Credit Scoring and Risk Management essential
  • Fully PC literate with advanced Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills
  • Mobile Telecommunications experience

£70k + Benefits & Bonus 

Responsible for the management of collections and recoveries across both the Business Banking portfolio (loans and overdrafts) and the Commercial Mortgage portfolio, the job holder will be required to drive business performance through strong leadership and the establishment of strategies to deliver to Group objectives.

The ideal candidate will have experience of both volume driven and case management collections and recovery activity within the Business sector. The individual will have worked in a major clearing bank and developed industry network on which to draw to support the development of the team. Accustomed to working at a senior level and presented to senior management to Exco level.
